This website is dedicated to the artist Peter Bevan.

Within the pages accessible via the titles above you can view Peter Bevan’s collected works.

Pete was a prolific visual artist, who produced a large collection of work over his lifetime. He was passionately driven and profoundly committed to the pursuit of Drawing and Making. Originating from Walsall in the West Midlands, Peter trained in Painting in Cheltenham, with further study at the Royal College of Art. He was also a dedicated tutor of Fine Art, teaching in the Mackintosh Building at the Glasgow School of Art for 30 years.

Pete was inspired by Asian Art and made multiple visits to India to study and make work. He consolidated this enquiry through research and in retirement studied for a Diploma in Classical Asian Art at The British Museum. Peter also made a large collection of work about the Scottish Bard, Robert Burns with whom he felt a kinship.

Following the ‘Reservation’ of Pete’s works through this website we were able to organise an artwork collection event at The House For an Art Lover in Glasgow on the 23rd of October 2021. Thank you so much to all involved. Your support with rehoming Pete’s artworks mattered so much and we are really pleased that the work is now out in the world where it can be enjoyed for years to come.

We have made donation of £800 to Alzheimer Scotland in memory of Peter Bevan
